Maths connects patterns to practical decisions. Begin with number sequences and rectangular area, then apply your ideas to a school garden sketch. The module encourages learners to explain their rule as well as their answer.

A number pattern follows a rule. In 3, 6, 9, 12, we add 3 each time. A rule helps us predict the next term and explain our reasoning. More than one rule can sometimes fit a short list, so describe your assumption.
